Nicholas Helton was born in Murray, Ky in 1979. While growing up in a small town, he was an active explorer of his backyard, participated in the explosion based destruction of G.I. Joe action figures with his father Roy, and became consumed by art and music at an early age. He received a BFA degree from Murray State University in May of 2002 with an emphasis in Printmaking and Painting. His artistic influences include Francisco De Goya, Hans Bellmer, Salvador Dali, Egon Schiele, Alex Grey, Kurt Cobain, and too many others to name. Helton moved to Cincinnati, OH in 2002 where he was a member of Base Gallery, curated The Unnaturally Fantastic Ink Extravaganza at Semantics Gallery, and was involved in numerous art exhibitions and organizations. While in Cincinnati, Helton was employed by the Cincinnati Art Museum as a slave laborer, and worked on installation crews at the Contemporary Art Center. He currently resides in Athens, Ga with his wife Ashley and their adorable dogs Madison and Sophie. He spends most of his time pretending to be interesting. But enough about him...........
